Many of us have periods in life where we need support to cope with life and/or to process what has happened to us in the past. I believe that reaching out for support is a strength; it is something I have done myself and find value in. I provide a safe and caring environment to work with clients in creating goals, building coping skills and self compassion, identifying values, and building new external and internal resources. My approach is patient and calm and I believe building rapport to be an essential building block to our work together.

I am a Registered Psychologist with experience working with children and adolescents in an educational context. My primary interest has always been supporting the social, emotional, and mental health of those I work with. I use a combination of EMDR, cognitive, attachment based, and trauma informed approaches.

In addition to providing psychoeducational assessments, I am now offering counselling to teens and young adults and look forward to connecting with anyone curious about working with me.

Hello! I’m Christine Cimolai (she/her), R. Psych.. Over the past 20 years I have had the privilege of working with children who have exceptional needs and their families. No two steps are the same, and the unique circumstances of each child, adolescent, and parent needs to be honoured. Anxiety, depression, grief, stress, trauma, and the overall navigation through the milestones of life can catch anyone off guard. For example, a parent who has a child recently diagnosed with a disability, an adolescent experiencing a life changing event, or a child having difficulties regulating. Trauma can be about impactful events that shake us but also the little things that add up over time. My aim is to support you in your ability to adapt to life and move forward. EMDR is a comprehensive treatment modality that includes components of cognitive behavioural, family, attachment, and psychodynamic therapy. As an EMDR therapist, we will find strategies, set goals, and resource your strengths. My professional perspective incorporates best practice alongside humour, compassion, and kindness. I combine walking with psychotherapy in south east Calgary for those who need to move and feel more at ease under big skies.
